Ah, parking... Who hasn't been through the struggle of arriving at work only to spend an extra chunk of time finding a suitable parking location (sometimes far, far away from the office)? We too have been through it, and that is why we have implemented a parking solution in our app to help you get a parking spot at your company's parking lot(s) free of hassle!
How to request a parking spot?
When you schedule a trip, you'll reach a part where you'll be able to see all your trip's info before you go ahead and schedule it. At this point, you might notice a section mentioning "Parking". If you tap the edit button (1st image below), you'll be asked if you would like us to try and reserve a parking spot for you at your company's parking lot(s) (2nd image below). Tapping "I want a parking spot" here, changes the status of your parking request to "Requested" (3rd image below) and we'll start looking for a parking spot for you once you finish scheduling your trip.
Done scheduling your trip? Great!
Now, on your Ride feed (app's main screen), you'll be able to see the status of your parking request (see image below).
Parking request statuses
These are the different statuses that you parking request can find itself on:
- Parking spot requested: We are searching for an available parking spot for you and will inform you as soon as we find one.
- Parking spot available: We have found a parking spot for you. Now, all you have to do is follow the instructions on the screen in order for it to be allocated to you. Depending on the availability of parking spots, priority will be given to drivers who share the most empty seats on a given day.
- Parking spot reserved: Hooray, you've been allocated a parking spot! How neat is that? You can see the address of the parking lot and, for more detailed info, simply tap on that notification (see section below).
- Parking spot not available: Unfortunately, we were not able to find a parking spot for you. This most likely happens because all the available ones have already been allocated. Don't forget that the more passengers you take with you on a given day, the higher priority you will have for getting a reserved parking spot.
If you are allocated a parking spot, the app will show you your Parking Voucher which you can access by tapping the parking request status bar (1st and 2nd images below). The Parking Voucher has all the details you need to find and gain access to your reserved parking spot (3rd image below).
Don't forget to fill your car up with as many passengers as possible to maximise your chances of being given a parking spot!
